The Department of Tourism is looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic, experienced, and educated professional to fill the following function:
Marketing Officer
Tasks consist of the following, but are not limited to:
- Responsible for the execution of marketing and public relations activities and facilitate an active relationship with our stakeholders and partners;
- Managing and overseeing international source markets alongside the planning and management of marketing campaigns with the aim to stimulate economic development and promote tourism;
- Develop relationships with on- and off-island publications, writers, tour operators and travel agents;
- Stay abreast of industry developments and trends to identify new opportunities;
- Create and maintain tourism budget for source markets;
- Create destination presentations and conduct webinars;
- Stay abreast of industry developments and trends to identify new opportunities;
- Write project reports.
** Candidates with direct ties to St. Maarten are preferred**
Knowledge and skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing research, Statistics, Math, or related field;
- Minimum of 5 years hands in the field;
- Excellent communication skills written and verbal in English, Spanish, Dutch;
- Fluent in French is a plus;
- Knowledge and expertise in the tourism industry;
- Knowledge of St. Maarten as a destination;
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail;
- Computer skills – MS Suite ( Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint);
- Creative content writer;
- Being resourceful and Analytical;
- Ability to translate complex concepts and methodologies into easily understood language;
- Must be a team player, service minded, result-oriented, accurate and confidential.
Salary:
Depending on the level of knowledge and experience the salary will vary between, minimum NAf. 3.751,00 and maximum NAf. 7.627,00.
