What does the position entail?

We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced, and service-minded temporary physician assistant for the period of April 15, 2022, to August 15, 2022. This vacancy has arisen because of the parental leave of our current physician assistant.

The main task for the physician assistant is to provide chronic care for the community of Saba. You work independently under the responsibility of and in consultation with the island physicians. You have your own consulting hours, and you will guide and coach patients with chronic (somatic) disorders. You work together with the team of island physicians, the laboratory staff, and the clinic staff.

Your profile

The position requires an HBO trained Physician Assistant or comparable education that enables the candidate to perform intake assessments (including a thorough medical history), physical examinations, order appropriate diagnostic tests and develop treatment plans. You have experience with triaging patients and are able to enter and authorize medical prescriptions. You have a good command (spoken and written) of the English language; you have good interpersonal skills and can work in a team setting as well as independently. You are patient-centered, proactive, and driven to quality improvement.

What we offer

The initial appointment is for a period of 4 months. You will work full-time basis 40 hrs per week

The salary is conformed to the salary implementation regulation of FWG Salarisstructuur Healthcare Caribisch Nederland BES and is placed in scale based on experience.
